well, another top evening had by all in the sun rooms, quite possibly our best gig to date. First off was out good friend DJ Red Seal who played an intricate set of ambient dub, expertly overlayered with clips from sound tracks. Hybernation played a rare 40 minute live set of new an old material, in his lush, but slightly darkened style. Claxton once again dug out some quality old school dub from the archives that got a few heads bobbing and a our first ever dance floor action. James Malone came all the way from London tonight to play an eclectic set that started off pretty chilled but soon got a few more people on the floor to shake some moves. Last but by no means least came Rocket Number 9, whose gadgets and machines and drum kit had been taking up most of the room all evening to much curiosity of the punters. They certainly used them to full effect and preceeded to make as much noise as possible, producing more bass that ever seen before in the Sun Rooms (as told to us by the management). All improvised, the four lads played a 20 minute song that grew in intensity and was rich in layers of dirty, glitchy, bass heavy noise, all accompanied by their own vj who used some rather old film footage to interesting effect. The had a great response and were encouraged to play an encore, of which we were all pleased. VJ Mokital added his usually high standard of visuals to the whole evening which once again made us all smile at another top, top night.
